Prologue ‘scorched’
The blackness of space is filled with endless stars and brilliant hues of nebula gases. Overflowing with saturated tones of cool to warm colors contrasting against the black canvas. The vastness of the sight narrows to a chamber that observes the magnificent abyss. The ground grumbled and the bulkheads rattled vigorously. The sound deafening at first then slowly a siren, a piercing blare fills the ear channels. Then voices transpire intermittently through the orchestra of the additional sounds in the background. Discharges of violent light rapidly approached the Imperial Star Empire’s Capital Ttar’Veck. The explosive bursts rocked the vessel and jolted everything as those that struck the Ttar’Veck. Work stations sparks and blew with warm saturated hues of light, killing or injuring personnel displaying them where they fell. Among everyone was a woman in the center. She was different from all of them and it was obvious that ‘she’ ruled over them.
Her beauty was known across countless realms and her influence went deeper. Her rein over the most supreme of the legendary Star Builder races caught the attention of everyone. Foremost alerted those who were known by no name, baleful creatures veiled outside the corners of space. Their influence crept like a cancer athwart among distances of time space all at once. The anonymous shadows were impending although uncertain while their touch was already being felt.... The battle overcastted a massive planet orbiting binary stars. The Imperial Capital Ttar’Veck fleet engaged an invading force that was nearly of equal match to the Sa’Vennious species. These beings resembled human, however seized a superiority both physical and physiologically. They were a group of people that feed on other humanoids, draining their prey of blood and rarely consuming their flesh. Their enemy were a people that the Sa’Vennious had nourished upon over a period of several seasons. Kneesh’ka is an assembly of life forms with powerful weapons and nimble spaceships. Although the Sa’Vennious didn’t have agile vessels but had an equivalent firepower. When ‘she’ ultimately released the fleet’s primary salvo, it had lead to a victory before the battle even actually commenced.
The wreckage of Kneesh’ka's and Sa’Vennious's Ttar’Vecks scattered the space above the planet Sar. The place of origin of the infamous Star Builders sovereign by Empress Amiekneta. Was a tropical world with tundra polar caps with light amount of permafrost, no actual snow caps. Her oceans were icy yellowish green hues and the plants were lush hues of reds and oranges that fade to blue and green as they decayed. The atmosphere was a hue of light blue tones, which beautifully contrasted with the tropical jungles. On it’s equator is an endless desert of relentless heat melts and burns sand and stone in to glass. Giving the planet an almost solid band of burnt blackness or reflected glare, which is broken up by the semi-crystal clear oceans.
Between the northern hemisphere just below the tundra lays the Imperial Palace. Which facilitates temperate to warm conditions that allows a delicate flower called Crit'um to blossom year around. The structures are surrounded by white and silver flora, which can be seen from orbit. Preceding to the skirmish Amiekneta a short time ago had given birth to fraternal twins of opposite genders. While the female would become the successor to the thrown, while the male would remain significant over the aristocrats of his gender. Males are passive but not in the least less aggressive to their counterpart females. The Sa’Vennious society is governed by females considerably to males. Regal male bloodlines hold little power, however can hold temporary custodian positions. Especially the Emperor may hold rein of the empire, until the next juvenile empress reaches an appropriate term.
Empress Amiekneta rested with her newborns while her physicians assists their health. A rare condition distress the beautiful monarch that quickly lead to her decline. Leaving her offspring motherless and husband to mentor the new queen alone. On the royal grounds a colossal structure that bear a resemblance to a stone gazebo. In the middle of this was Empress Amiekneta’s lifeless shell, covered and encircled by millions of the Crit'um flower’s white corolla. Around the deceased are the crying babies which are also surrounded by Crit'um petals of silver to black tones. While Emperor Row’Nal is sat on the opposite side of his children with a blank stare. While he is enclosed by black and red thorns, which demonstrates Sa’Vennious cultures ritual of the departed. They are to remain sat for three days without provisions till the queen’s body releases it’s soul in to the next sovereign.

A joint (action) post...
14:31
Part One The bulkheads vibrated softly throughout the Legacy’s interior. Inside in its place of blaring klaxons a seamless loop of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata was heard. It wasn’t from a file from the main computer but an actual piano and hands gliding on the keys. Through the veins of the Legacy, a pulsating hue of crimson red broke through the darkness of the corridors and rooms. In one such room was a woman sitting naked playing on a grand piano. Her hair was as black as her eyes and her skin as pale as snow. Littered on the cargo bay floor were dead or dying CRV security and marine personnel. They wore uniforms from the Legacy and the Sotrila as they were like an army flooding in to defend their home and each other. They fought another being, the ‘Drak’ Kate with blunt weapons, phasers, and fist. Anything that they had, anything they could, anything to stop it! Kate’s eyes matched the darkness of Anya’s empty bottomless eyes. While Anya played Kate fought and killed as the emotions in each key were pressed. The Vice Admiral poured her every being in her adaptations of Beethoven’s sonata. Anton was pressed off to the side against a bulkhead of the cargo bay. He simply watched her play as the ground rattled and jolted from side to side. He was deeply evoked by ‘his’ Admiral's eroticized by her strength and will. Kate effortlessly pushed her claws of her armor into the bodies that came towards her. Some were slain by the energetic whips ripping through the air while the heat from distorts, and burnt fabrics into flesh and bone. A distant echo of what sounded like a child laughing added to Anya’s playing, crewmen shouting, weapons against one another and a succession of explosions. Painted a battle inside the CRV’s USS Legacy but on the outside her belly, the Star Drive emitted a glow of the warp cores breaching outwards into space. The Legacy’s Chevron section detached as the escort starship disembarked at the same time. The USS Dark Skies was being flown by Beaubourg Tyler and what remaining loyal Legacy crew with him. Anton’s sight blurred into the transporters beaming on to the Aquarius Class, USS Dark Skies. The laughter continued as Mitzy danced through the dying interior of her once home. Throwing bombs at whichever way at no particular pattern. A dance, a game, and more laughter came forth from her mouth. Even from an explosion rocking her off her feet she remained smiling and to laugh. The Moonlight Sonata continued even through the dead parts of the starship piercing through the silence. Mitzy transported herself on the Chevron aft section of the Legacy that’s headed toward the planet below. The shine from her odd colored eyes of orange formed tears that fell down her face. Great happiness fell upon her as more laughter; as her sight saw through a portal seeing the Star Drive get swallowed by a blinding exploding glow. In the distance a blurred lifeless body of the CRV’s USS Sotrila being shoved further out to space. Dead bodies at Anya’s feet and all around her. The nearly black shiny liquid spreading across the floor towards the admiral’s bare feet. The only light in the center of the cargo bay spotlighted Anya playing on the piano. The what seemed to be a growing black pool quickly creeping towards the light became a deep blood red. Stood in front of her was Kate as her bio-armor folded out of her face and down her body. Her emotionless eyes met with Anya’s empty ones. Kate lifted her arm and hand swinging the whip as both women were transported on to the Dark Skies. Anton’s orders gave Beaubourg to meet them with a security detail. They materialized on to the transporter pad and Kate’s whip continued moving to strike Beaubourg and security detail on to their asses. Admiral Rothschild stepped off the pad and extended her hand towards Kate. The ‘Drak’ took the Admiral’s hand followed by, “ You played beautifully Anya, 14:31 will be pleased with us.” As Kate said. Inside the bloody cargo bay of the Star Drive of the Legacy gets enveloped by the explosion of the warp cores breaching. The force ripped through an alien station orbiting the planet and flipping the Legacy’s Chevron section upside down. The Dark Skies jumps to warp leaving all behind. Nothing like a leaf falling from a tree the chevron section of the Legacy sharply cut through the skies of the crystal world. From the ground, the chevron appeared to be an arrow splitting the atmosphere followed by a black to dark red shriek. The saucer section glided down to the planet skipping like a stone on the surface of a lake. The chevron decapitated heads of forest tops and small mountain tops until it stopped into a large volcanic mountainside. There the last remnants of the Legacy laid upside down. What was left of the remaining Sotrila crew had beamed over to the Legacy. Legacy and Sotrila crews on the Chevron section are no longer divided but now are together. Part Two On the 14:31’s USS Dark Skies Anya Rothschild cleaned her pale cold looking naked body. She unsoiled the smell of Anton off her skin and blood that had stained her. She dried off her body and slipped into a newly pressed Institute Jupiter uniform. Anya gladly discarded her old CRV Vice Admiral identity. An operative of once known as Section 31; an organization that has finally killed most of the CRV leaders, and now has reached The Void’s universe. Anya a true Admiral in her right within the 14:31 Institute prepares to meet with fellow operative Kate in the brig. Kate wore the same uniform as Rothschild but with her Drak weapons adorning her body. She was already in the brig attending to the Legacy’s CRV crew. Everyone else on the Dark Skies was 14:31 personnel and anyone who wasn’t is behind a force field or was on the Chevron section, perhaps. Anya arrived seeing Kate’s smirk befalling those in the cells, especially on Anton and Beaubourg. Anya’s empty jet black eyes met with Anton, Beaubourg, and the remaining Legacy’s CRV crewmen through the force field. “ Beau, are you ready to join us, on this side of the field?” Anya said. “ We don’t need to play CRV anymore. That part of our lives is over.” She smiled but not smiled rather felt the tone she gave. Anton on the other hand she trusted, but she had to be sure since he wasn’t CRV or 14:31. Anton was a man that was close as soulless as Rothschild is. Two darkling's evenly matched in some sense needs to be told differently from others. Also, she wanted to repay Anton for the hidden freezer room. “ Kate, escort Anton to the Black Room. Make sure you strip him of his uniform and suspend him." Kate deactivates the field that he was held separate from the others. The obedient Kate effortlessly manhandled Anya’s XO out of the brig. Anya had her people pull Beau out of the cell as well. Anya turned to him and said, “ Get out of those CRV rags.” Anya left him without hearing anything he had to say. Though her CRV Legacy crewmen in the cells were truly loyal to Rothschild. The 14:31 security killed them with pulse rifles to the chest. Anya believed that if you were never with The Institute you will never be. The Admiral reached the Dark Skies bridge and inquires about that status. When she was told that no one was following them and all the non-14:31 crewmen are dead. She had met with Anton at the Black Room; there she touched his lips with her fingers. The leather on Anton’s upper lip felt the texture of the gloves Anya wore. All 14:31 wore these black leather gloves and had little insignia on their uniforms. She licked her lips as she moved her index finger down to Anton’s lower lip. She pulled down sliding her finger on to his chin, chest, and right nipple. Anya bit his skin drawing blood as it dribbled down his naked body. Kate was still in the room with all this happening. She found this all sexually tantalizing as her body warmed and the space distorted with a warm orange glow. “ I’m going to let her stay. Unlike you, Anton. I like it when others watch.” Anya said softly. “ Are you with us? Or are you with me?” The Admiral walked behind Anton sliding her fingers on to his skin. She pulled off one of the gloves with her teeth. Kate spoke out, “ Admiral, we aren’t allowed to take those off.” Anya looked at her deep in the dark parts of the room. With no contrast of her eyes as Anya stood in front of the light. The true emptiness of her eyes was seen; Kate felt a pull of her soul into Anya’s empty eye sockets. Kate’s fire stopped and she looked away from Anya. Anya said, “ That’s what I thought. Now, leave us!” She angrily noted. She turned back at Anton and Anya’s eyes returned to what he always saw in her eyes. “ Are you with us?” She walked closer to him and with her left hand felt up his left bum cheek. Anya leaned over to his ear and said, “ Or. Are you with me?” Tag: Anton Konstantin & everyone else Location: USS Dark Skies - The Black Room

A Joint post for Haemis, Madlyn, and Mitzy. USS Sotrila, Main Engineering, Lieutenant Commander Haemis McTavish
Haemis watched the readings spike, he knew it was too late to do anything at this point they were all along for the ride it did not matter what he did. He had seen these readings before. They couldn’t stop the ship in time to avoid what was coming. The collision was hard, granted it was only a glancing blow but the two vessels rebounded off one another, maybe it was by design or not that gut wrenching feeling of an impact like this was not something you soon forgot.
Picking himself up off the floor slowly, and glanced around watching as his engineering team disoriented but aware pulled themselves up to their consoles. “Bloody ell!” he said holding his head. He pointed to his assistant, “Status report!”
She opened her mouth to say something then the ship shook hard as something hit them. Alarms began to go off through engineering just as the red alert began to sound. Haemis pushed himself to the Master Situations console and surveyed the damage; they had been struck by something but what he didn’t know.
“Route power to structural integrity around those areas!” he said pointing to the areas showing a deep red color.
Haemis heard the tell tale sound of the ship's defenses coming online, then the vessel shuddered hard as it took a sudden barrage. Haemis glanced over and saw the shields were up and registered multiple impact, the computer was clearly searching for a frequency match to better defend the vessel. He was nearly thrown off his feet as another heavy hit sent them all careening away from stations. Chaos reigned in Engineering as conduits ruptured and stations overloaded. It took a moment but Haemis go this footing, and returned to his station, in time for another pounding. He gripped his station with both hands.
“Transferring Auxiliary power to the shields!” someone called out over the cacophonous sound of explosions echoing both against the shields and hull of the vessel.
‘At least we're not going down without a fight’ Haemis thought to himself as he went about trying to route around damaged systems and direct damage control teams. Another series of explosions ripped through Engineering.
All the hair on Haemis body suddenly stood on end and he immediately pulled back his hands, Emerald green lightning played out over the console causing the displays to flicker, then sparks began to fly. As Haemis looked around engineering, it seemed to travel from console to console, when his eyes found the ship's Core they went wide as he could see the lighting playing over it, and the tell-tell signs of the effect it was having on the core. It was already under stress given the situation. He stared watching as it very quickly spooled down, and the vessel began to go eerily quiet.
His staff looked around as if trying to figure out what had just happened, the consoles wouldn’t respond to the touch, it was dead. The vessel was dead. “What in the bloody ell…” he said, and angrily tore a cover off the base of the master situations console and as he was reaching for one of the relays manual reset he felt the sensation of a transporter beam taking him. Again, his eyes went wide and what seemed like an eternity stuck in the annular confinement beam, the image of his familiar engine room was replaced by a corridor of another vessel, alarms were going off and the sounds of fighting and explosions filled the corridor.
USS Sotrila, Sickbay, Councilor Madelyn Price
Part of Madlyn regretting volunteering to help in Sickbay, but she was most certainly needed as casualties flooded sickbay at a steady pace. She knew something was wrong the padd in her pocket started beeping a her, and when she could see Haemis vitals start to spike, it was telling. Or what she assumed was an assault. It was apparent they were in trouble as the frequency of wounded filtering into sickbay continued to increase.
She literally was wrist deep in a patient trying to pull shrapnel from a wound when the vessel was tossed around hard under the continued onslaught from an unseen foe. She was horrified when gravity failed and sent her floating through the air, screams echoed through sickbay as bodies, equipment, and fluids became weightless.
She felt herself impact the ceiling, and falling back on training she pushed herself back to the biobed, her patient was still steadfastly attached as it had its own restraint system and power supply, though it was short on life it continued to function. She saw the piece of shrapnel she had been trying to dislodge floating in the wound which was pooling with blood.
Grabbing a suction unit she began to clear away the blood, and using an autosuture she was able to seal the leaking vein, then she began pushing the patience insides back into place and then with a dermal regenerator in one hand and another holding her to the biobed she began to seal the incision site.
Glancing back at her floating feet she took stock of sickbay, gravity was out, and it looked like power was failing even in the backup systems. Consoles were sparking and going out as if a surge was traveling the length of the ship. She held up a hand to shield her face as the biobed screen erupted in a shower of sparks and debris.
In that moment gravity fluctuated as she felt herself suddenly start to fall only bounce off the biobed, the floor and was sent spinning back to the ceiling and across the room. It spun sickeningly, and then she felt the tingle of a transporter, and the tell-tale signs of being whisked away.
USS Legacy, Doctor Mitzy
Mitzy’s plan was coming together very nicely, chaos reigned on the ship and while the Sotrila and Legacy performed their dance of death in space the looming stations nearby would soon respond tipping the scales in the favor of Legacy, Mitzy knew this was a possibility and it worked at least in her mind. The bloodlust that had taken over her, or was it a soul lust. She continued adding to the chaos using her biological weapons of destruction to blow up anything that fit her fancy.
“Doctor what are you doing!” shouted a security officer.
She stopped, frozen. A wicked grin spreading across her lips. Slowly she turned glancing back at the officer. “Hello my pretty!” she said.
The young man's eyes darted around the corridor, and then back to her. “You need to stop this!” he said pointing his weapon. “Drop the bag!” he said pointing to her satchel of destruction.
She smiled. “But…” she stalked closer to him. “I’m hungry!”
“What?” he asked, with a confused look raising is weapon level with her chest.
She did not bother speaking, she leapt upon him forcing him to the ground. His weapon discharged and clattered away out of reach, her eyes burned a bright orange as she reached deep into his soul and devoured his essence, and she succumbed to the euphoria of it all. It had been so long since she had truly feasted.
Slowly she rose, leaving behind his shriveled dead corpse lying in the corridor, in the chaos no one would really know what happened to him save possibly one person. She didn’t care, she had already revealed herself.
Moving down the corridor towards another jefferies tube she stopped a look of curiosity appearing on her face, she took a couple of steps back, a grin spreading on her lips as she turned to peer into a room, several of the Legacy crew were trying to help fallen comrades, she reached into her bag pulling out a purple pulsing fruit and pulled the stem off the top tossing it gleefully into the room with a manic giggle. It almost immediately began spewing forth a violet gas, and in just moments those present in the room were falling prey to the nerve agent, their many pores began to bleed as the poison now coursing through their veins began to take hold, and the paralytic not allowing them even a breath of agony.
Clapping her hands and giggling manically Mitzy moved on prancing down the hall, dropping an explosive here or there continue to rain chaos, it didn’t take long for her to find her way to engineering, she now stood staring into the open door to the vessel's engine room. No one paid her an ounce of attention, they were too busy trying to save the ship darting from station to station.
Stopping at one of the stations closest to the entrance to engineering she noted the readings showing the Sotrila was succumbing to wounds that she couldn’t possibly understand. The ship was gone, but her crew, she needed them! Why not allow the chaos to continue. Her fingers danced over the console, and the Legacy’s Emergency Transporters came to life, and the crew of the Sotrila’s life signs changed vessels in mere moments. She had saved them, and her hope was that they would give her that much when they were thrust together if any survived.
She nodded as the indicator showed a successful transport, Something curious caught her eye as she turned to move further into the Engineering space. A group of people with strange uniforms, several of them were huddled near the core connecting cables to a moderately sized clear box. She felt her heart leap as she saw what was in the box as they dispersed having finished their task. Inside the clear box was a large bulbous plant with a blue ethereal glow emanating from within, it was a spore giant from her garden!
An alarm she had not heard before on the Legacy suddenly began to sound, and the lighting changed. Inside the box the blue glow began to grow steadily as the plant began to split along its edges. Very quickly it began to spew forth a steady fountain of blue glowing spores.
“No!” she said reaching out to the plant.
“Black alert!” the computer's voice called out, and then in seconds everything seemed to distort, an incredible nausea overtook Mitzy, but she managed to remain stoic. It was already done, there was nothing she could do for her precious and rare plant which now lay withered in the box. Accept revenge, she would get revenge!
She pulled more of her poisonous fruit and tossed them into the engineering space as she started walking towards the core, bodies falling prone slipping into silent death. She stood staring at the vessels heart for a long moment before a beeping caught her attention, she spun gracefully and walked to the console begging for attention, she smiled.
As she turned to start her next task she stopped as something about the uniform of those unidentified individuals caught her eye. A patch on the shoulder, it seemed fairly odd that what would seem to be a clandestine force would be wearing such a thing but when she saw the ‘14:31’ numbers embossed in dark thread on the patch she felt a surge of anger well up inside her, she reached down snatching the patch and a good portion of cloth and flesh with it off the lifeless body. She stared at it, then shook the flesh from it. She stuffed it away in her satchel.
As expected, the intruder alert alarms began to sound signaling a renewed level of chaos as the struggle over control of the Legacy began. Mitzy stopped at a console pulling up a readout from the internal sensors, and what she saw became abundantly clear, some of the Legacy’s crew were joining the side of the Sotrila crew, as lifesigns from both sides were converging on Anya’s position and were being snuffed out in succession.
Mitzy’s eyes glowed brighter, the chaos was palpable. Today was a good day, and soon she would cause even more chaos, hopefully it would spell the end of Anya. She began placing charges around the vessels core prancing and dancing about as she placed them to unheard music playing in her head. She was humming a gleeful tune that matched the tone of the music in her head.
USS Legacy, Deck 2, Lieutenant Commander Haemis McTavish
Haemis held his stomach as he leaned on his hands and knees trying to get his body to cooperate, the transport was rough but it happened and was clearly successful. He glanced around willing the nausea to subside. He immediately recognized that he was on the Legacy as there was no other known federation vessel nearby. It only made sense to him. Slowly rising to his feet he drew his Type II phaser flipping the setting over to kill. He spotted one of his engineers nearby, he bent over cautiously and checked their vitals, and he shook his head in dismay finding no heartbeat.
The intruder alert alarm started blaring through the vessel, he pulled the tricorder from his fallen comrades belt and the extra phaser tucking it into his holster. He opened the tricorder and began scanning to get his bearings. He was on deck 2, very close to the bridge. He noted the path, and pocketed the tricorder.
Just as he had looked up he had enough time to press himself against the wall just as a phaser blast streaked past him, he responded with a snapshot from the hip which nearly hit its mark but was enough to make the officer duck back around the corner. He took off at a run, heading right for where the officer disappeared and as he saw him stick his head around the corner he unleashed the phaser firing wildly as he ran, causing his opponent to miss wildly as he ducked away to avoid the onslaught. As he neared the corridor he leapt into the air sailing into the junction leveling his phaser as he fell and landed flat on his side, his phaser sounded off and nailed the officer and with a quick aim he spun another to the ground, and took a third off his feet as he surprised them.
Scrambling to his feet, and started quickly down the hall, he fell another security member as he came out of a room in surprise, and stopped another who held up his arms.
“Don’t shoot!” he shouted.
Haemis had leveled the Phaser and it took an incredible amount of willpower not to depress the trigger. “Why!” he shouted.
“Were on the same side, that bitch has gone nuts, she’s killing everyone!” he stammered. “Some of the Legacy crew is still with her but not all of us!” he stammered. “Please don’t shoot!”
Haemis thumb pressed the level selector shifting the beam to a heavy stun. “Sorry kid!” he said and fired, the beam dropping him into a heap on the ground. “It’s shoot first, ask questions later in your case. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt!” he crouched down noting a couple of bulge at his waistline. He pulled the belt free and slung it over his shoulder, noting that he now had two Anti-matter grenades, and two stun grenades.
Haemis quickly started down the corridor at a run, coming to the Jefferies tube access he mounted the ladder with a jump and began climbing vigorously, he could feel his knee aching but it wasn’t going to stop him. He climbed quickly coming to another junction between deck two and the bridge. He changed over to the ladder leading up to the Bridge, and climbed to the top stopping at the hatch which was situated at the front of the bridge between the viewscreen, the helm and operations consoles.
He paused as realization hit that he had no idea what he would be up against when he burst through this hatch. But he knew it would be the best option to take control of the vessel. He pressed the button and the cams made their tell-tale sounds of unlatching, he put his shoulder into it and launched the hatch up and over. Quickly pulling the two stun grenades he depressed the arming triggers, and counted out three seconds. He could hear shouting as the bridge crew reacted, and ducked as a shower of sparks was produced from a phaser hit on the edge of the opening. He tossed the first grenade out and to the left, then followed by sending the other one high and to the right, and ducked covering his ears.
Even covering his ears the sound was deafening, the flash was bright, he could feel the tingling effect of the stun effect on his skin, but he ignored it pushing himself up the ladder and onto the bridge, his phaser found its mark on the remaining three officers standing in a daze.
He nearly jumped out of his skin as the turbolift doors parted and several of the Sotrila crew rushed out shouting. He chuckled and smiled. “I win!” he said.
“Haemis!” he heard a familiar voice.
USS Legacy, Deck 6, Councilor Madlyn Price
Madalyn stood brushing herself off trying to regain her footing, she was disoriented, the transport was rough, one of the worst she had experienced. Maybe that was the difference between the standard transporter and an Emergency transporter. It felt very raw, and unrefined. Having materialized three feet in the air had not helped matters.
“Ms Price!” she heard a weak voice call to her.
Madalyn spun, which didn’t help with the nausea, she spotted one of the nurses she had been working with, her mouth hung open when she realized that the nurse was waist deep in a bulkhead. The transport had deposited her within it. She rushed over, pulling her tricorder and began scanning.
“Tell my family…” she said, her breath was short, and the amount of internal bleeding was causing a slight gurgling noise as she spoke. “I…”
Tears threatened to overwhelm her as she opened her mouth to speak. She nodded, stammering “I know, I’ll tell them. I’m so sorry!” she said grabbing the woman's hand. She watched as the light slowly left her eyes, and her body quieted.
Looking around she saw a small security force come around the corner stalking toward her weapons leveled, it took her a long moment to realize they were from the Sotrila. She stood, and nodded as they stopped surveying the dead. “What do we do?” she asked wiping the tears from her eyes.
“We take this ship!” one of the officer said slapping a phaser in her hand. He nodded. “You know how to use one of those I assume?”
She simply nodded.
“Figure out what happened to the Sotrila, hopefully she’s still out there.” another said as he passed by heading forward.
“Where too then?” she asked checking the setting on the Phaser.
“The bridge!”
She fell in line with the Security officers, and a science officer whom looked about as frightened as she was. They moved down the corridor with relative ease not encountering any resistance, the vessels security force seemed to be otherwise occupied. The ship shuddered from time to time as some explosion went off deep within the ship.
The lead security officer stopped looking dubiously at the damaged entrance to the jefferies tube. “Do we try and make it through that mess or use the turbolift?” he asked.
Madalyn took a moment to peer past the man into the jefferies tube junction, it was full of debris, and smoke. It was pretty obvious that it would take them more time than they had to traverse the mess and the likelihood was the tube going up would be impossible to pass due to structural collapse.
“We could go round to the other side and access another tube.” a young woman spoke up. “Safer!”
“No, not enough time. We use the Turbolift. They wouldn’t expect it!” another officer said.
She stared back and forth between the different security officers as they debated the best way to assault the Bridge and finally the leader stepped toward the turbolift, and they all followed piled in.
“When we get there rush out, fast as you can, clear the lift so we provide as little bottleneck as possible!” he said nodding. “Bridge” he said as the last person piled in. It was cramped, and part of her memory associated the scene with an old circus clown car act she had once seen in her youth, they were piled in shoulder to shoulder, everyone turned towards the doors waiting.
She could sense the tension in the lift, she didn’t have to be a betazoid to pick up on that, the lift shook twice in succession as it slowed signaling their arrival. Two explosions echoed through the lift from beyond the doors, and as the doors parted and they rushed out weapons ready, each splitting and storming on to the bridge shouting for anyone to drop weapons, and then all of them dropping their aim on the singular standing officer at the front of the bridge, who was drenched in sweat and also holding a phaser on them definitely.
She recognized him immediately. “Haemis!” she shouted with glee.
USS Legacy, Main Engineering, Doctor Mitzy.
Mitzy grinned staring back at engineering as she slowly backed out clapping her hands, “This is going to be great!” she announced with excitement. She turned and began prancing down the corridor until she arrived at the end of the hall, she pressed her fingers to the console on the wall bringing the display online, pressing a few quick buttons queued the transporter set to beam her away from the area to preset coordinates on the ship.
As she was whisked away she could see the ship tremble and the gout of fire that erupted from the doors to main Engineering rushing at her with fiery fury.
She materialized in another section of the ship and the ground immediately jumped under her feet heaving from a massive explosion that tore into the vessel's Engine room. She was shaken to the floor, unable to regain her footing. Alarms of decompression, and many more she had never heard echoed through the massive vessel. It Shuddered again hard as another series of explosions signaled the cascade explosion she had left behind.
“Warning, engine core breach in progress!” the computer's voice rang out through the ship.
Mitzy picked herself up off the ground, only to be forced back down as another series of explosions rocked the vessel, she let out an explicit in her native tongue and attempted to regain her footing again, it was difficult.
“Warning, engine core breach imminent, please evacuate and move to minimum safe distance immediately!” the computer’s voice called out.
Mitzy grinned, “What a lie, there is no minimum safe distance today!” she said, and as she raised her arms and began dancing down the corridor again, there was a sudden tug on her torso, the world spun and she saw where the shot had come from as her first revolution brought her all the way around and to the floor. It was one of the 14:31, he had weapon pointed at her as he advanced down the shaking corridor.
“Hello my pretty!” she said through clenched teeth, prone on the floor.
“Goodbye.” he said coldly and she could see him tighten up in anticipation of pressing the trigger, and he did, the ship shuddered hard and the beam created a furrow in the ground next to her head, she felt the heat and pain from the near miss. She reacted in kind by leaping from the ground onto him, the unexpected attach catching him completely off guard. She dug deep into his soul, drawing it out of him. “Goodbye, indeed!” she screeched through her clenched teeth in unbridled fury. The two of them fell to the ground, she felt oddly satisfied, but cold. Her eyes were heavy and her body like an heavy, she swayed with fatigue.
The ship shuddered hard pitching her sideways into the bulkhead, she felt weightless as consciousness escaped her a smile spreading on her lips knowing that while she may parrish here and now but she had dealt a blow to her mortal enemy.
USS Legacy, Bridge, Lieutenant Command McTavish
The vessel pitched hard suddenly as another series of explosions lit up the vessels secondary hull, someone had lit the fuse on an incredible fireworks display down near main engineering.
“Warning engine core breach in progress!” the computer's voice blared over the ship's intercom.
“Bloody ell!” Haemis said as he picked himself up off the floor and headed for the engineering console. He scanned the vessels status display and shook his head. “I donno this, but I do know it canna be stopped!” he said in dismay.
“What do we do?” Madalyn asked coming to stand next to him.
“Pray!” he said as he started running his fingers over the console. “Core Ejection systems gone, that’s not an option.” he said stopping a moment, his fingers danced. “Not able to Transport it out. No way to shore up the containment, it's physically gone. This is a runaway I canna stop it, or eject it. But maybe I can help contain it!” he said, and began shunting power to structural integrity, and began erecting as many force fields as he could between the core and the rest of the ship.
“What are force fields going to do?” Madalyn asked.
“Something's better than nothing!” he said running his fingers across the console looking for anything that might help. He noted antimatter pod ejection was still online. “That's something!” he said and quickly sent the command to start ejecting the ship's Antimatter pods. The audible sound of the pods ejecting from the ship could be heard echoing through the ship.
The vessels shook again, and again as both internal and external explosions erupted. Alarms signaling hull breaches began to ring out, and structural integrity began to fall.
“It's not going to be enough!” Haemis said, and turned back to the bridge. “Brace yourselves!” he said and he dropped into the closest chair.
The vessel lurched as a massive explosion ripped through the ship, the viewscreen desperately tried to compensate for the white wash of the explosion threatened to overwhelm it. Stations all over the bridge erupted in flame and sparks and an EPS power conduit failed on the upper port side of the bridge sending debris and bodies flying across the bridge. Haemis was weightless suddenly and found himself floating across the bridge then gravity took hold again and he felt the wind leave his body and he was certain he heard ribs snapping as he landed on the helm console and rolled off.
“Inertial Dampers offline!” the computer's voice called.
Haemis got an arm around the helm console, and dragged himself up, and around into the seat. Looking up, he had a hard time focusing then he realized there was a crack running through the viewscreen distorting the image, a planet loomed in what he could make out of the viewscreen. Glancing down, he realized he had no real helm control, propulsion was offline, computer controls were gone, and a large portion of the vessel was missing. He still had access to sensors and what they told him was obvious, the vessel had broken into its respective pieces, though missing a large portion of hull where the engine room once was.
“Should we abandon ship?” someone asked from behind.
Haemis shook his head. “No time!” he said pointing as the glow of atmospheric entry began to distort the screen. He glanced around the room and found Madalyn lying prone and unconscious. He moved over and scooped her up into his arms, slowly moving towards the front of the bridge he put his back against the wall resigned to their fate. “Might wanna brace yourself lad, it's going to be one hell of a ride assuming we survive!”
The other’s did as he had done, gathered up their comrades and even the unconscious crew of the Legacy and braced everyone against the front wall of the bridge. The shaking increased as the vessel began its uncontrolled entry.
Haemis looked across the bridge at the others as they tried to steady themselves. He could hear someone nearby softly praying, not something that he ever expected to hear from a Starfleet Officer, but one often reverted back to old practices at times when life was coming to an end.
The first impact came, the ship hit so hard it slammed them against the wall. It rang Haemis bell good, his vision swam, but he held onto Madalyn with all his might trying to shield her the best he could. The sound was deafening, the vessel pitched upwards for a moment then the aft end hit something and forced it back down slamming them once again against the wall. Consoles and equipment ripped free of their mountings and flew across the bridge, the sound of the vessel sliding and skipping off the ground was so loud that you couldn’t really hear anything else, no words, not even the explosions as they ripped through the bridge.
The ship's port side must have struck something because suddenly the vessel was spinning, and so were they, rolling across the wall bodies tumbling together, equipment flying.
Haemis hit a bulkhead support and he and Madalyn went careening across the bridge and hit the Captain's chair, Haemis had the frame of mind to try and brace himself on the chair but he couldn't. The two of them tumbled across the bridge again as the vessel skipped. He felt pain, his body ached, and his vision was threatening to shut down. He looked up to see the helm chair which was still bolted in place, he pushed Madalyn into the chair, and hit the restraint activation button and the belts quickly slapped into place around her.
Scrambling across the bridge on his hands and knees to the wall once again bracing himself for another impact, he arrived just in time, the vessels stopped, suddenly. The sound was deafening, everything not still bolted down arrives at the front of the bridge. Haemis eyes swam in his head and finally close as consciousness faded.
USS Legacy, Chevron Section, Cargo Bay, Doctor Mitzy
Mitzy’s eyes fluttered open, she felt pain. Lots of pain. The room she was in was dark, and the sound echoed. The constant sound of dripping and flowing water was at first alarming but when she realized it was not close she relaxed for a moment. Reaching into her pouch she felt around and pulled out one of her many toys, she squeezed it and shook and the room slowly began to light up with a purple aura. She sat up, and took stock of her situation. She was clearly not in a corridor, it was a cargo bay she assumed. It had at one point taken up two decks, but had been crushed down and was just barely one now. She could see a jefferies tube access point which was still accessible, the hatch was split in two and laying embedded in a crate.
Looking down at her side, she pulled the bulb off that had been healing the wound in her abdomen, and nodded as it had done its job and sealed the wound. She still felt hot blood running down her shoulder blade where she had been shot previously and no doubt had reopened the wound when she had sat up, pulling another sport she slapped it on her shoulder and it moved down on its own accord to her wound. “I win!” she shouted with glee.
Standing up she pranced around in the available space. “I win. I win!”
After her moment of joy she collected herself and walked over to the jefferies tube access and knelt with her glowing bulb and peered down the way, she could see a good distance. There was water, and lots of it about fifty yards down the tube. It was not rising which was in her mind a good thing. “Great!” she said turning back to the room. “Now what!”
There was a strange sound from the other end of the room, a hissing. She slowly began crossing the room until she got close to a wall, the hissing sound was coming from it. She watched with mild curiosity as a portion of the wall began to glow orange and then the tell-tale signs of a cutting torch sparked through the wall and began cutting a square.
She waited as they finished the cut, and then a boot kicked in the thick piece of metal, a man with a phaser in hand crawled through holding it level on her. She jumped and clapped. “Saved!” she smiled.
“Who are you!” the man asked pointedly.
“You can call me Doctor Mitzy! It easier than trying to teach you to pronounce my full name. I’m not going to hurt you dear, I saved you!”
“Saved me?” He asked, a confused look graced his features.
“Yes, I beamed you from your dying ship, to the Legacy.” she said, clapping and hopping. “I saved you!’
He blinked. “Okay I’ll give you that. What’s in the bag?” he asked.
“What’s left of my medical and science lab. There are biological weapons in here but you may dispose of them or we can leave them behind here. They served their purpose.” she said reaching in but stopping as he seemed to tighten up his grip on his weapon. “I assure you, if I wanted you dead you would be!” she said matter of factually.
“I have no doubt. Give me the bag!” he said holding out his hand.
“I can give you the bag, but you cannot touch them, they are harmful to you. If you touch them you will die and with my current medical equipment there will be nothing that I can do to stop it.” she said taking the bag off her shoulder and holding it out.
He nodded. “Okay, how are you going to dispose of the weapons then?” he asked.
She pointed to the bag. “The water.” she said pointing back at the jefferies tube.
He pondered the situation a moment, then a voice called from the opening. “Just let her get rid of the damn things and let's go, we’ve got more people to dig out!”
He nodded. “Do it!” he said holstering his weapon.
Mitzy nodded and smiled, walking over to the jefferies tube she began pulling out the poisonous spore sacks and dumping them into the tube, they rolled down the angled passage and into the water. As each touched it they sunk into the water dissolving leaving behind a brief purple cloud. “All done!” she said turning back to see the man crawling out. She pranced across the room, and knelt to follow.
